Nose: Stonefruit, almost juicy fruit tinged smoke. A very interesting mix of smoke and raw fruitiness.
Palate: Orange pith, stonefruit, and round, pungent smoke not far behind. This is more in the realm of meaty barbecue than ashy char.
Finish: Medium length, with notes of coconut, smores, graham cracker and grass. Surprisingly absent of fruitiness, in contrast to the nose and palate.
Overall: An interesting combination of summery fruits and meaty smoke that is actually pretty unique. It hides it’s age very well, perhaps only showing in the restraint of the smoke. Without knowing the age first, I would never have guessed it.
