Deadhead Dark Chocolate

Deadhead Dark Chocolate

This is a Dark Chocolate flavoured rum from Deadhead that is sold in a gaudy monkey head, at a pathetic 35%. This is a liqueur, and should not be called rum. I was unlucky enough to have someone put this in my advent calendar.

This is a series of blind tastings from the “24 Rums” advent calendar. I have not looked at what is in the calendar, so every one of these reviews is 100% no prior knowledge.

Nose: Chocolate cake, creamy pecan, sweet caramel candy. Propylene glycol. Very sweet. I am expecting some sugar here.
Palate: I was not wrong. Sweet caramel fudge, milk chocolate.
Finish: Caramel, almonds, pecan and chocolate on a river of sweetness.
Overall: This was more of a caramel liqueur to me. Very sweet, very caramel, little classic rum notes to be found. Something I would blend into icecream, not something I would drink straight.
Rank: 2
